About Us
Meet Matthew
I started my practice in Kirkland, WA in 2008 after having graduated from Bastyr University, WA, with a Masters of Acupuncture degree. Before returning to Washington to earn that Master's degree I had attended the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Toronto, and practiced acupuncture there in a combination of corporate medicine and private practice. I have also been certified by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist. And I've done extra training in heroin detoxification and volunteered for a while at the Evergreen Treatment Center in deepest, darkest Seattle. But that's all kinda boring...
So the interesting stuff is:
I'm a new(ish) Dad. My wife and I have a little boy who is the central star around which the solar system of our lives revolve. Always a new experience every day, that! I'm really into knitting and reading and art (by the way have a look at the Art In The Center page for a glimpse of Angela Wales Rockett's awesome artwork!) And we try to get outside for a hike when its not utterly dismal out!
So back to the professional stuff: Over the years I've worked for many natural foods stores and integrative pharmacies as a nutritional consultant. I've also spent a load of time working with energy healing, which, if you've never experienced it, is really cool! I use everything I've learned through this past experience when I now work with patients, and it all dovetails together to make folks feel better. Which is also something that I'm really into!

Our Philosophy
of Care
At Elements of Nature Acupuncture and Wellness we believe in tending to the well-being of the whole person.
When the subtle energies of the body are in balance and allowed to flow unobstructed, many emotional, mental, and physical challenges spontaneously resolve.
We believe this balance and flow of energies to be the natural condition of the healthy body and spirit.
Our mission is to help those who suffer find this balance within themselves and initiate their movement back into health and wholeness.
